JIKA SOLD:
During this time Jika was on the market. We had an interested buyer. We negotiated and he bought the boat. Jika was a special boat, she was fast. While we owned her the highlight events that we participated in were: The double handed South Star Race(Cape Town to St Helena Island) which was sailed with Dale and Ian aboard, we raced this under the name KOREAN MOTORS. The Vasco race (Maputo to Durban), we shipped the boat to Durban and then sailed her to Maputo and raced back from there. We sailed under the name "Cipro Annual Returns". The Mossel Bay race (Cape Town to Mossel bay, sailing around both Cape Point and Cape Agulhas) and the return which was sailed in high winds and seas eventually saw us sailing under small jib only for the last 70NM. We sailed many other events as well. Most if not all events we were normally in the placings at least. Jika was a pleasure to sail. Her new owver is Peter Marais, he currneltly keeps her at Saldhana Bay. We hope that he will consider brionging her back to Cape Town to compete again. GOING GOING GONE....
